I’m going to be interested in the reaction to Medicaid being cut. Lots of my maga patients will be impacted.

I don’t particularly have an issue with some things falling under “we can’t tell you, it’s National security”. We pay our government and military to do the distasteful things that must be done.

False you are an owner of the federal government. You should be pissed at anything that’s not 100% transparent. Sure some intelligence needs to be protected I understand that, but money spent should 100% be transparent down to the penny

They won’t touch SS or Medicare but there is no doubt it is rampant with fraud

Speculation

Just as the OP speculated that the Republicans in Congress wont make adjustments. Lets see, before we declare a surrender

It isn’t speculation to suggest we don’t have an additional two trillion in tax revenue unless you want to pay significantly higher taxes on top of inflation

Cutting fraud is not "cutting Medicaid".

You actually believe Democrats would shut down the government indefinitely lol then allow Trump to make recess appointments on top of everything? The CR has no real budget cuts it’s just bluster

A good start would be 25% cuts for every single department.

I want smaller government. By any means.

Kill departments
Kill agencies.
Kill programs

Send back to states

I read that the Department of Education got 260 Billion dollars last year. And only 25% went towards students. They should eliminate the DOE, increase funding form 25% to 33% and let the states decide how to spend it. Money should be tied to a requirement that test scores have to go up.

Since the creation of the DOE not a single metric of education has gone up.

But people will have to hold their states and local school boards accountable. Here in Tuscaloosa the city schools superintendent just got a $50,000 raise. 50k is more than a lot of teachers start out making and it was just a raise. I think he makes around $250k. And 60% of the schools in the system are considered failing.

Something needs to change.

Looks pretty likely there will be Medicaid cuts. Whatever else it means, it’ll be an interesting time for patients and hospital systems in Louisiana.
