That isn't how it works, unless the thought is that every bit of regulation or law involving the GoM is somehow made void by a name change.

I don’t think it works like that as well, but some of the off shore drilling EO limits by Biden have more of spelled out basis in a law that a lot of over reaches do not. This seemingly was going to make reversing those specific ones more complicated.

With both chambers of congress I was expecting more using the law from the contract with American like in 2017 where congress votes to reverse or revoke an executive order made within a certain timeframe at the end of the outgoing presidency, and then when new President signs it not only does it reverse/revoke it but it can’t be done as an EO by any President again without passing a new law (process is basically passing a law but a streamlined and quicker process just for those late EOs). I thought in 2017 congress had some waiting for Trump to sign Inauguration Day.

But I have not been able to pay attention to the strategy or process behind the ones today. Biden may have also done many before the timeframe the law spells out for congress to act on those particular late executive orders by a lame duck president.

I mean on the surface, I agree.

Everybody said Trump wasnt going to get cabinet members through confirmation and they had found an old clause that said they technically could by dismissing Congress.

COVID hit, and Trump sent a ship to NYC to load up people getting sick and wouldnt continue to get other people .

Before Trump, nobody audited the Pentagon. Now they do.

It seems common sense not, but at the time it was outside the box thinking that he brought to the table. There is no telling what is up his sleeve with this.

There is a theory that its a legal move to bypass oil and gas restrictions on the Gulf of Mexico. Think there is any truth to that?

Any contract worth it's salt is going to define better than "Gulf of Mexico" with zero other walk backs.

That's deadnaming and deadnaming is wrong.

Or so I'm told.

Remember when the Arabian Gulf was the Persian Gulf?

It was about 35 years ago….not that long.

We have “Persian Gulf War Veterans.”

Names can change.

STFU.

I seem to remember a mountain being renamed by EO. Didn't seem to be a major problem then.
