quote:Not really.
One fought to liberate themselves from tyranny, the others fought to have the right to own other humans as property. Small difference there.
The right exists, or it does not.
The justification for exercise of the right is irrelevant.

quote:
Where are these examples
The a thread title. The whole thread is specifically about Confederate Generals and G. Washington.
quote:
I dont see any examples that would differentiate from what the Indian did. I’m sorry you didn’t think about the Native American when you typed that out. I bet you used to say “losers don’t get trophies” too until someone pointed out Vietnam.
Are there a lot of status of US Soldiers In Vietnam?
Not to mention there is a difference between something that’s Meant to honor the dead and something that’s meant to glorify an individual.
quote:
They weren’t. I mean, sure some probably were but you can’t look at the past with modern eye
They were.
100%. Lee went to West Point. Some where former US Confressmen. They were American tilll they decided they didn’t want to be. And then they lost.
quote:
So are you moving the goal posts per se or are you just a hypocrite? I’m guessing a little bit of both.
I’m discussing something in context of a threat titled
“ If Confederate generals were traitors, so was George Washington”
If I dislike the for more than being traitors this may not be the thread to discuss it.
quote:
If questioning your asinine statements makes me a dick, then I’m ok with that.
Ignoring The context of entire thread to pretend you’re clever and defend confederate generals makes you a dick.

It was never taken to court because many if not most people of the day believed a state had a right to secede.
It was never pursued because that would do nothing to heal the union it would simply increase division.

True that. What you had was the extreme on both sides dictating to the majority who wanted no war and wanted no secession.
The wealthy heirs of European aristocracy (and many whose forefathers were given massive land grants in the south) who looked down on the rabble (slaves, poor whites) and felt it was their right to own other humans vs a man and his party who was furious at his election causing a dissolution of the US.

You said, “...used specific examples that are easily differentiates from native Americans.” I put your whole quote in asking where are the examples. You provided none. The thread title is not yours. I know what the thread stated at first. But when you said what you did, I then said the Native American would fall under that category. That’s how I ended up on that and this is something I have explained in every reply. You are either obtuse or you refuse to comprehend what I’m saying.
What does that have to do with you implying that Native Americans are traitors?
I’ve already explained that to you. Again I’m calling into question your reading comprehension skills
OH MY GOSH! For the umpteenth time, I know what was being discussed. But your definition of traitor would throw the American Indian in that category. That is my point.
It’s not hard to be clever when I’m dealing with someone who’s dense. Btw, I’m still waiting for you to explain to me how what I said was racist.

They were patriots for their individual states.
