The coal debate is a good one.
Yes, we are not in a place in this country when we can abandon coal as a power source. We're not.
Many R&Ds are researching for new or improved alternative energies. That is good, and there is no reason we shouldn't be doing this, even with govt research dollars. How much should the govt invest is another question.
There are many areas of research I'd would like to see to fruition, but in a logical, thoughtful process.

what about Graham backing what he said? are you really going to defend Trump on this? Like i said doesn't matter the language he used i cuss like a sailor sometimes . It's the fact that senators fill the need to cover for him that is laughable to me.

That’s the whole debate. How much should we invest? Some who want to stick it in liberals face say none, while disconnected environmentalists say way more than we are. I’m sure there is a happy medium, but you won’t find the sane debates on here or DU.

Conservatives never make a big deal about boycotting shite. Burning NFL jerseys Smashing Keurig machines Starbucks cups and their "war on christmas" Nordstrom not selling Ivanka merch Target and their bathroom policy #dumpKellogg
Who started a boycott pertaining to the NFL? It was the players boycotting the anthem first. Conservatives did boycott, but that was a reaction. It didn't happen out of thin air.
Not sure what you're talking about with the Keurig boycotts. But I do know the inventor of the Keurig said he regrets inventing it due to the waste it produces.
The whole bathroom thing?? Who started boycotts with that? Celebrities, state govts, NCAA, etc. Target boycotts came months later right? Who were the initial boycotters?
Starbucks? heh heh.
Nordstroms? Yeah, so many middle American conservatives shopped there to begin with. How did Nordstorms survive the boycott?? lol
No idea about a Kellogg boycott. Never heard of it.
So, about all the things you listed first began with liberal doing all the boycotting. Funny.

I agree. We all will surely have varying degress of support for this.
Many believe the govt isn't the best entity to run such an endeavor.
Even with alternative tech, there are going to be negatives involved. There will be good and bad, which is the way it is with most things.
Want more electric cars? We gonna mine the shite out of the environment for lithium and still have to produce electricity to power those vehicles and satisfy the rest of the country's needs. There isn't enough alternative energy in the world right now to provide for the US.
Want more nuclear power plants? I do. But I understand disposal of the fission material will possibly be a problem.
There's so much gray area in all these discussions, but so many crazy people veer to the outside of the argument rather than staying in that gray area where improvements could actually happen.

the fact that he is not lying with his account of what happened in the white house.

While Graham has not directly confirmed Trump's remarks, he issued a statement praising Durbin after the lawmaker spoke to reporters Friday. Graham also noted he told Trump in the meeting that America is “not defined by its people, but by its ideals.”
