I do think there could be an argument made for there being no God, but it would depend upon how you define God. So we'd need to start there.

Do you find it odd that you're ascribing a belief "that there is no God" to atheism when virtually all of the accepted famous atheists simply "lack a belief in God"?

I don't think you must, I just think that's how it goes with most atheists, especially commoners.

I'll be more clear. A sound and valid argument can be made that there is no God depending on how you define him.
But, again, this conversation seemed to be about what atheists believe and if they have faith, not getting into the nitty-gritty of whether or arguments for/against the existence of God are proven. I have no interest in the latter as they're never productive.
