The DEMs celebrated Scalia's death then tried to put the Senators on the hot-seat by rushing thru a sure to be defeated Lib in the final half of the year with an known opposition Senate. They really didn't care if HE got approved or not = they just hoped to get enough vulnerable GOP senators to vote so that they could campaign against them on it.
The history of SCOTUS nominees is solid - thruout our history - Senate/WH in same party = 90% confirmation. Senate/WH is opposite control = 90% defeated. This Senate just did what practically all others have done. The only thing McConnell did was to not subject the country to a known outcome for use by politicians who care not a whit for the Constitution in the first place.

Democrats invented the concept of hypocrisy.

Wrong, he was railroaded by the Republicans. Its funny how narratives change based on who's in the office. The republican party is just full of hypocrites.
You are bonkers

It's true. He never had a chance of being confirmed.

Or who has a senate majority numb nuts.

(it would have never been Garland if they didn't), and were all but okay with it, knowing Hillary would appoint who they really wanted in a few months.
/\ THIS /\ is the succinct explanation of the truth. Had they thought there was a chance of actually getting a nominee approved, they'd have put up a wild-eyed radical - they were saving that one for HRC to anoint. Too bad - so sad - NOT.

By Obama.
It was actually a gamble. They baited the Republicans to maybe seat a guy who was pretty middle of the road, except on guns.
Mitch McConnell - sometimes heroes don't wear capes. Sometimes, they look like cocaine fueled turtles.

Garland actually got screwed by Notorious RBG, who should have retired when Obama was president. She gambled, but the Democrats lost.

Merrick got "Borked" without all the nastiness. He should be thankful.

And Obama knew it as did the rest of the Filth.
