It is like the gas and milk rush before a hurricane in some respects... people run out and buy more than the factories can keep up with and continue to do so, and others realize they are behind and buy as well...
Also, November through January is when ammo factories do much of their re-tooling and shift to competition loads instead of hunting loads... This is also the time of year when most competition shooters order their ammo for the year... I just order a pallet of shotgun shells from Federal that will be in next week....
Couple that with the rush and you get empty shelves and increased prices...
Also the box stores generally reduce their ammo on hand during this time of the year...

I keep seeing how people are just going to willingly hand in their guns. I don 't see it? So they go house to house in raids? I don't see that either. They will come up with a different strategy. They best slow play it too.

Nothing has killed more people than socialism. It doesn't matter if it 's by gun, by starvation, or a shitty healthcare system, the result is the same.

Personally, I believe it would be similar to 1984, where people would just start to disappear. Media would squash the stories of disappearances and issue propaganda, and society would live in fear. The lack of backbone in society is more evident now than I’ve ever seen.
