NAFTA & China entering the WTO did nothing to hurt the middle class.

Until the pandemic it was doing just fine.

What we are seeing is that the middle class is doing better and becoming smaller over time....because more of that population is making enough to jump up a cohort.

And the higher-earners are doing much better.

You're conflating trade imbalance with deficit spending.

go back and read the OP.

My first point is that America is beyond broke. We need to stop spending. That was my point at the top of my response.

My second point was regarding what was said, not what you think he said. he said America must "invest" in other countries so that they can in turn "invest" in America making America great again. He said nothing about trade imbalance.

Having sad all that,

Taiwan would still be an agrarian shithole. Taiwan shows a pretty ideal path of economic evolution that leads to societal evolution and SOL increases. This is only possible with open/free trade internationally, because Taiwan didn't have money to invest in itself when poor.

It is not the responsibility of America to create positive economic situations around the globe. However, if there is a net positive benefit for the US in helping another country...I am all for it. But it must be a net positive for the US.

Sure, but that has little to do with America First, MAGA, or "globalism"-related discussions.

That's basically all trade deals

That's why we're #1 without a close #2

Since 2008 the middle class (using classic definition as households with incomes between 2/3 to double the national median) has experienced net negative wealth mobility by every non biased measure. Using the next 30 years, that negative wealth mobility will only get worse.

No argument here.

apparently you don't realize what our tax dollars are spent on. go listen to one of the way too long speeches by Rand Paul about what is included in the budget.

You are so blinded about "being right" that you haven't realized that we agree that the US is better off with net positives trade agreements.

It has no real modern meaning.
Well that's not quite true. In the modern context, globalization's roots are in GHWBush's "New World Order," or as Ross Perot appropriately termed it, "That Great Sucking Sound." It's an ideology favoring international ideals over national interests.

And the current anti globalization roots are with antifa and other anarcho commie groups.

Nothing has changed, just new converts and bastardized definitions.

First let’s talk about what was the trash of the past four years.

Every price increase is directly attributed to the globalist liberal socialist pigs that ran the country. Every regulation written to falsely achieve clean power production, while intentionally interfering with manufacturing and agriculture.

So before your fantasy, let’s eliminate the stupidity that is the direct cause of the existing affect. Increased costs of living. The intentional idiocy of the left.
