Well trump did give out a few trillion dollars in Covid Stimukus checks right before he left office.
I guess that money doesn’t cause inflation?
But tariffs are going to fight it by…. making consumer goods… more expensive?
But Trump is a big time budget hawk…
Well he increased the debt at pretty much the same trade as Obama untill 2020

Get a better BIL, but do agree with him on this:
I'll also add land unless we're talking about a timber or some allied enterprise.

By almost every metric whether it's jobs or Nasdaq and Dow
Jobs came back because they were eliminated during Covid.
Using their logic if you take $1000 to the casino, lose it then win it back you “created” $1000.
The cost of necessities is the important metric. If groceries, utilities, insurance, gas, automobiles and housing costs more, then it doesn’t matter that you simply have a job. The job has to pay enough above what you making pre Covid for you to get back to the break even point.

Your Lib brother in law only watches CNN and MSNBC and there is NOTHNING you can do to convince him (or her) to change their mind
Until you can show him (or her) how to create an account on X (and follow good legit MAGA accounts) and how to discover and watch/listen to Podcasts instead of CNN and MSNBC, then he (or she) is a loss cause - There is simply no way to change his (or her) mind because he (or she) is brainwashed from watching propaganda for their news source

I'd probably ignore it too, but if pressed I'd make two points:
- First, Trump is a populist and the party/movement on the right is trending toward populist ideals, for better or worse, and most of the points the BIL is trying to make are in that realm. So I don't see how a Trump ticket should be out of bounds for him.
- Second, a vote for Harris/Walz is a vote to put a target on the backs of traditional families. They hate us, they want nothing but harm to come to us and they want to take the resources we earn and that are intended for our children to use against us and in favor of those they'll teach to loathe us.
