To anyone interested, one of the two white oaks died and one did put out another set of leaves but, they are very small and unhealthy looking. It is barely hanging on.

Thanks everyone. I will keep an eye on them and report back. The leaves are still on the tree brown and dry.

A couple of months ago I dug up some white oaks that were maybe a foot tall and planted them on my property.
They had just leafed out and it got down to just below freezing. Now all the leaves look brown and dead.
Did it kill the young trees?
