LSU requires vaccinations for all other types of diseases for admission and so do other universities. The thing is all those other types of vaccines are FDA approved. These COVID vaccines are only approved for emergency use. These kids are not even in a high risk group. If you are fat slob and are a high risk then get the damn vaccine. But don't force me to get a vaccine. Me getting a vaccine is not going to protect you.

I'm pissed because my son is a sophomore at LSU right now. Maybe he can just say he got the vaccine and that should suffice.

Why the frick would they make this mandatory for the age group this doesn’t effect. Like .03% have serious complications/death. And if you have the vaccine are you not protected? So why do you want to force others to get it if it makes no difference to yo protection? This is stupid.

Why do they require any vaccinations at all? LSU currently requires you to have tetanus, meningitis, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella).

"Leaders of the state Legislature have said there is little chance that lawmakers will require students to take vaccines. Galligan has noted the Louisiana Department of Health has not required them.

Daniel Tirone, a political science professor, said he found very little legislation relevant to universities’ ability and duty to require immunizations.

“The only requirement there is actually for meningococcal disease, so we already go beyond what is statutorily required,” Tirone said. “So, it does not seem like we'd be making this up out of whole cloth to add this COVID-19 requirement to the current policy statement.”

I don’t think he is correct.

From the LSU website:

Louisiana law (R.S. 17:170 - Schools of Higher Learning) requires proof of dates of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus-diphtheria for all first-time LSU students born on or after January 1, 1957, and for reentering students (born on or after January 1, 1957) who have been out of school for one semester or longer. The requirements were established for the purpose of meeting the established recommendations for control of vaccine-preventable diseases, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to the United States Public Health Service (ACIP), and the American College Health Association (ACHA). Louisiana law subsequently mandated meningococcal meningitis vaccination for persons admitted to a postsecondary education institution starting in the Fall 2006 semester and thereafter. This was satisfied by giving the meningococcal ACWY vaccine. Since 2006 a meningococcal B vaccine has been developed, which covers a strain not covered by the ACWY vaccine. Though not currently mandated, the meningococcal B vaccine is strongly encouraged.

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger.... Texas A&M (my alma mater) is well down this path also. It’s so bad that the snowflake moderators on TexAgs board have perma banned a load of long time posters, like myself, for questioning them. Hard for an Old Ag like me to swallow.

This board is more appealing to me, more tolerant so far and I hope LSU alums can effectively push back on the libtard administrators and teachers.

I retired in SWLA 5 years ago, so you’ll see more of me from time to time in future. As far as Aggieland goes, “Not another Dime!”

I was curious about this - how many SEC schools have mandated? Or have similar efforts?

Is LSU the 2nd (Vandy #1)most leftist school nowadays?
