I like the Islam quote from Sam Harris made years ago. I think Western leftism fits it well. There are concentric circles of leftists where, at the center are the radical, violent minority. This is followed by a larger ring of non-violent sympathizers, ie the roaches on twitter celebrating this murder. Then a ring of leftists who simply ignore the violence in the party as they continue to condemn all things non-leftist.. the SFP types. Lastly, at the outer edge, are genuine non-violent leftists with somewhat open minds who want to win in the realm of ideas.
Essentially, like Islam, the left can claim a non-violent majority. When in fact, a significantly large ideological group of enablers and sympathizers infests the party. No accountability occurs, therefore nothing changes as the violence grows.
