His opponent (Mondale) was from Minnesota. No fraud needed to win that state and was perfectly understandable.

And that answer is what I’m suggesting as somehow Reagan made sense to whole east coast, Illinois and Washington & Oregon. Obviously California too but even California hadn’t been that bad prior to
