I don't think we need to put prostitutes in jail. The judge should sentence them to a really good spanking.

People are telling me that nonviolent offenders, such as marijuana offenses, are deserving of what the OP posted on, so far as I can tell.

Here are two.

after moving to St. Tammany Parish, however. A single such conviction on the north shore landed the 35-year-old in prison for the rest of his life.
NOLA

quote:

Though Mizanskey had never previously been to jail and had never committed a violent crime, he was given life in prison under Missouri's "prior and persistent drug offender" law, which allows judges to order life sentences for third-time felons, even for non-violent drug charges

Huff Post

edit:
If we want to talk re-legalization of marijuana let's get a thread going. This isn't really the topic that the OP started.

if he's too fricking stupid to not possess something the court has told him not to possess for the third time? throw his stupid arse in jail. and that goes for kiddy porn, hippy lettuce, stolen Ferrari's or your neighbor's tomato's.

if he's that stupid...is he really going to be a productive member of society? c'mon man

Why are you so angry? All I did was posit the opinion that work options for prisoners are inhumane and are almost classifiable slavery.

I get it, US society has an obsession with locking people up as a punishment, that said, there is no reason to be cruel about it.

At the end of the day the govt is responsible for the welfare of the prisoners.

as long as this gentlemen is throwing all these links around...let's kick this around the soccer field

How many frickING times have I watched NOLA news on a young kid that was being sought for murder 1.

And time, after time, after m'fing TIME! the kid has umpteen court appearances for minor shite, marijuana, skipping school, whatever.... and he's been coddled, processed...but never once, not once did he get jail time.

AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN!! Out of no freaking where....we got another dead body on the streets of NOLA. And all we hear from the news for the next week is his mother and family crying that he was a good boy and to turn himself in.

If I've seen it once, I've seen it a hundred f'ing times. So...I'm out, I'm done with this bullshite discussion with your non-violent marijuana crap...!

If he and others are really so concerned about someone being sent to federal prison for life for possessing just one joint of pot why haven't they petitioned Oduma to pardon that person?
