Theoretically is the operative word.

EVERYTHING is political theses days. I'd imagine highly publicized "presidential odds" are no exception.

Sounds like gaslighting to me.

I just think a ton of people that actually bet on it, glance at any polls thrown out that says Biden has a 2 point lead in Florida. And actually think Biden will win Florida. People that bet on these things aren't as studied as you'd think. I'm surprised it's not more skewed to Biden tbh.

Good observation. Probably is. The polls and anything on MSM is certainly all one big gaslighting operation. Take the "suburban housewives" thing. Who in the hell knows if there's any significant truth to that? Sure, I guess they've shown us polls to that effect. And we hear it all over the news. But considering the extent of the media and polling misdeeds that is highly suspected, why would we believe that particular matter?

It's all gaslighting. I don't know why they'd stop short of this.

How much cash would Soros or Brennan's cohorts have to bet to move the odds to make Biden the betting favorite? Not that much, in the scheme of things.

And there's this...

Trump’s odds to win the 2016 election were near 5-to-1 the day before the election [a 5 to 1 underdog]. Wagering on political outcomes seems a lot more enjoyable, and financially wise, than arguing with strangers on social media.

Politics and gambling are squeaky-clean and fair-and-square in your world?

Must be lovely in there. Bless your heart!

Yep. Why would anyone think that Vegas is notably exempt from the never before seen effort against a sitting U.S. President? As it is there are those in our own government, power players in the corporate sector, the media world, and yes international interests who've pulled out ALL the stops to remove Trump one way or another. Vegas et al obviously has powerful people behind it as well, and why wouldn't one also think the same motivations and intentions apply?

THIS. Only the "best" gamblers are truly "studied". Gambling itself is, well, a gamble. Gamblers ruin is a 90+% certainty. Thats why all those big casinos are big casinos.

Sure things happen, but infrequently.

Just bet all you can on Trump and don’t lose your ticket!

Look at it as great odds that will get lower and lower til Election Day

A lot of the economic metrics point to a Trump landslide.

The odds aren't their prediction on who will win. The odds are set as such to have an even number of bets on each side.

this is what everyone fails to realize about gambling in general

My understanding is that Vegas doesn’t care to pick the winner or loser rather they want to adjust the odd to get even amounts of money on both sides. In this way they won’t get hammered in the case of an “upset” and they can make the 10% commission on all the bets placed

This guy gets it.

Vegas doesn't know anything. They don't lose because they charge juice on the bets. They have no special insight on who is going to win. The lines are driven by the public and the public's insight.

The odds are not about who wins. The odds are about winning money.

But aren't odds based on who or what is more likely to win a given contest?

Well, I've never been much of a gambler or bettor, but it would seem to me that lulling a bunch of unknowing people into placing bets simply based on the appearance of who the oddsmakers are indicating is likely to win, but the oddsmakers don't necessarily believe their odds to be accurate, Vegas could lure all those people into sure loser sucker bets. Again, that would be aimed at folks who are placing their bets exclusively based on the confidence that the odds themselves instill.

That’s not how casinos work.
It hilarious that people living in a bubble are shocked and don’t understand the world outside their bubble. I used to think it was sad, but it’s mostly funny.

Not being a knowledgeable gambler or bettor is living inside of a bubble?

Yeah that doesn't make good sense.

They are banking on Joe Schmoe seeing CNN Polls that Biden is leaps and bounds ahead of Trump and thinking betting Biden as a heavy money line favorite will be free money.
