Because the mask is about spreading to others, so the lack of mask is interpreted as lack of simple common courtesy.

Then stay your fricking mask wearing arse at home and the problem is solved... see, simple solution...

What am I spreading if I have a negative test on file? What would my mask be for ?

So your solution is that people think you’re discourteous for not wearing a mask should stay home? I thought we wanted to open the economy again.

Forcing states to wear a mask is a way to "advertise" there is something serious. If "they" let the mask thing go away, then it's harder for them to push a "disease that will kill us all". It's all part of the "hollywood" script.

You don't need a mask, you need a t-shirt that reads:
"I tested negative"

It's a win-win.

Because you’re willfully neglecting to do a very simple thing which would help spread a communicable disease
so did you for your entire life before the Coronavirus you do realize that the coronavirus isn't the only communicable disease to ever exist right? It's not my fault if you're stupid

How many highly communicable diseases existed in significant numbers in 2019 for which there are few known treatments? We have flu shots, vaccines, etc. for other diseases

Every person who has ever died of the flu caught it from someone dumb arse

Also a valid reason for people to look at you like you’re crazy

But they don't. They agree with me. I've been hoping to meet some pussy like you who wants to chastise me for not wearing a mask. Never happens.

Yup. That’s why we have flu shots. Good, slightly inconvenient way to reduce the spread. I get mine every year. Like masks, they’re not 100% effective, but the cost/benefit calculation is pretty simple.

How do people get to that point? And why weren't they wearing masks in 2019? Communicable diseases existed in 2019 also.

Maybe because some people have parents that are 70+ and could die if they give it to them?

Nice dodge

People still die.

They catch it from someone. Someone who didn't wear a mask. Some a-hole like you, who had it but thought it was a cough. Gave it to someone. Who gave it an old person. Who died. Some of them wouldn't have gotten it if only everyone had worn masks.

Under your paradigm, you're a killer. Accept it moron.

The OP in the thread was that non-maskers were getting crazy looks. I’m sorry you look forward to confrontations everyday. I would hope you could direct that energy to something more productive.

And the VAST MAJORITY of people do not get flu shots.
How can they be so rude to their fellow man!

They're not confrontations. They're an opportunity to enjoy making fun of stupid people. That's why I'm talking to you right now instead of doing something more productive.

The majority here in BR still do not wear masks. If I'm in a business and people look at me oddly I just ignore them. If a business were to require me to wear one when entering then I would decide whether I want to do business with them badly enough to acquiesce to their fear.

For government to attempt to enforce such ridiculousness... no.

I accept that at some point, some germ in my body may have led to someone’s death. However, I have taken reasonable steps, such as a flu shot, to attenuate the negative effect. Cost/benefit. Do you wash your hands after you poop? Simple, slightly inconvenient way, to reduce spread of communicable diseases. The greater the threat, the more you should be willing to do to prevent spread. With something more deadly like Ebola, we take more inconvenient steps.

This seems unlikely to be true. Link?

you could have worn a mask. But you didn't. And per your own position it would have been simple to do. Sorry you're not going to be able to twist out of this one

I would agree that more people should get a flu shot.
