I’m forty but I honestly didn’t expect this thread to turn into a referendum on god. It was supposed to be about conservatism.

He's probably a stop gap, but I've been wrong before. I'd love to be wrong.
I'd love to look back in 20 years and go "wow we thought we were so close to the edge" and marvel at how society and American culture rebuilt itself in a morally-meaningful and healthy way. And TBH, I think there have probably been plenty of similar outlooks in American history where that has happened, perhaps in ways they couldn't have imagined.
But like you, I'm still not optimistic.

Yeah I called out christian purity culture because people are arguing that it’s conservative and I am arguing that it’s not. That’s quite different from people being mad that I don’t believe in god or whether humanism has ever produced important works of art. It’s been a wild ride

Nobody is mad at you. But you swagger in with grandiose statements about the liberation of humanity from the god delusion and people rightfully pointed out the flaws in that particular argument.

You can if you are a piece of shite. Some of us will just enjoy music, sports, oceans, and rivers because they bring us pleasure and not because we see anything lasting in them

Lol at “grandiose statements”. We’re on a message board, and no one has refuted anything I’ve said. The only argument that works is the guy who said that all civilization is the product of the biblical god whether they know it or not, which might be true, but there’s certainly no evidence of that

I want a man or a woman on this forum who believes pornography isn’t a detriment to society to tell me if their daughter or son was involved in the porn business if they would be proud or even just ok with that?

That aside, how can you judge someone as a bad person without an objective moral framework or standard to use to condemn their actions? All you can rationally say is that you don't personally like those actions. You can't make an objective moral declaration about it in your worldview because there can't be one; you can only have subjective opinions about things.
