You think half of people who live in MN don’t know who their gov has been for 6 years?

Kelly would’ve been a better overall choice. Wonder what happened there.
He has some scandals, but Kelly at least has a cool story. This guy just watched over mass riots and the country burn and the mayor took the fall (which to be fair deserved it).

She knows she needs Michigan and Shapiro gives Michigan to Trump.

Yes.

That is certainly an opinion someone can have

I mean I live in Denver, and save for Katie Hobbs in Arizona, I have no idea who any of the surrounding governors are of Colorado at least by name. Yes I know Polis, but don’t know any governors that border his state (although I know New Mexico has a woman that was probably the most despotic governor in the country during Covid).

Okay but you know your own governor?
I didn’t know who walz was before his name started surfacing, either, but come on man

Was this the guy that tried to get out of a DWI by playing deaf?

You are in a bad way when you have to alienate a ton of independents to shore up your base. This shows that internal polling is not trending with the public polls

The only governors with national exposure are Desantis, Abbott, and Newsome, plus maybe Whitmer. A few others have regional notoriety. I can’t remember the NY governor’s name. Sanders in AR is known in republican circles.

Yep

Yeah, but I pay attention to politics. Also Polis is probably a Top 10 most famous governor. But I still doubt that 80% of the country could tell me who is the Governor of Colorado.

People are dumb, man. I guarantee if you interview people in the parking lot of most NFL games outside of teams based in Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and California that most people there couldn’t tell you who their governor is. Hell in New York, I’m willing to bet you’d still have a sizable portion of them that would say Cuomo.

Well and Noem, but largely for bad reasons.

If it is indeed Walz (and that's a pretty big IF), then it would just cement the face that the Dems are ruled by their fringe base.
Objectively, Walz makes no sense; Kamala was probably going to win Minnesota anyway and you are passing up Shapiro, a popular governor in the most crucial swing state.

Shapiro may refuse her to be fair, which would be smart on his part.

I seriously doubt that; everything I've read about Shapiro suggests he is very ambitious and he would jump at the chance to be VP and have the inside track for the Dem nomination in 2028 or 2032.

Posters on r/politics have been clamoring for Walz for a little over a week.
They think he has high-likability for voters who don’t give a shite about policy, and pro-labor/union stances will contribute to the rest of the Midwest.
I’m not sure I agree with them that walz will accomplish these things, but I do agree those are things they need.
Kamala is extremely unlikable. She needs a counterbalance.

They may not have passed on him, he may not want it. Or the Jewish ties are too much for the Dems to overcome.

Maybe I haven't seen enough of him to pick up on his likeability, but to me Walz just seems angry.
