This is what hallowed out the economy in Venezuela. High taxes leads to exodus of wealth and jobs. That what you want?
Of course politicians will say it to get elected by people who don’t know better, but it’s not sustainable in today’s global economy and people like Cortez know it.

I would NEVER support a tax rate of 70% on anyone. I don't care who you are or how much you make.

frick this. NO ONE is entitled to anything that anyone else works for. Much less 70% of it. It doesn't matter how much it is or how great the intentions for the use of the money.

Well I imagine that a majority of the money would go towards unfounded liabilities, additional pensions for government workers, and most likely it will go towards the ever growing group of people who are dependent upon government assistance.
