The SCOTUS decision reaction has made it clear why the liberal institution and activist are upset. They have been relying on affirmative action as the excuse to discriminate as they desired and now that SCOTUS pulled that rug from under them they can not hide behind the government.

The liberals have already stated how they intend to discriminate. They will remove all objective qualifications and rely on subjective criteria that will be impossible to prove discrimination. GPA, test score, class rank will not be determining factors. Essays will be the determining factors and through essays the schools can learn every social, cultural, ideological information they need and simply state the applicant meets a very broad qualifications. Good for the schools who go that route because they will destroy the quality of academics compared to the schools who follow an objective based admissions standard.

So what really changes? Nothing really except the possibility that universities can now be sued for discrimination. The universities should be jumping for joy with this decision because now they can simplify admissions, but the fact they are upset is very telling of how they were abusing affirmative action.

From the esteemed Justice Brown's dissent:

Of course she would be pissed, Affirmative Action got her where she is today.

They'll still do it. You can't prove a university discounted your application on the basis of race unless you were there when the committee was reviewing your application.

I'm concerned about this, but in civil court you don't have to "prove" anything. If the data continue to show blacks being admitted at higher rates than other races when adjusted for GPA, test scores, etc., then the lawsuits from the students who can claim discrimination should put an end to that.

She would make a fine checkout girl at Michael's. Unfortunately her ambition far exceeded her talent.

With that "dissent" word soup, Justice Brown shows exactly what is wrong with the racist admissions at Harvard. I've seen better essays from 9th grade students. The fact that this came from a Harvard Law grad is as pathetic as it is troubling.

It's kinda funny that criticism of her is considered (by the bottom half of the country) to be "racist" until proven otherwise. Never mind that, although I rank her as the absolute DUMBEST justice, Thomas is the one I consider to be the BEST. I also rank ACB over Kav, and Kav over Roberts, so it's not necessarily a sex thing. Not my fault that 3 of the 4 women are wrong nearly all the time, especially 2 of them.

Ironic, considering she is one of the biggest examples in history of this not being true.
