I still don’t understand “curing” the deficit. Where did he cut spending to fix this? All he did was tax the shite out of us to get a surplus

You just answered your own question. You may not like his methods but at least he stopped putting it on the credit card. And don’t get me wrong I’m absolutely for cutting spending, but those that don’t push just as hard for spending cuts as they do for tax cuts are just as fiscally irresponsible as the libs

Yeah I'm pretty torn because JBE is pretty moderate. i think Rispone is just a rider of Trump's coattails and it's pretty obvious that he is.

Thats all Rispone is. The guy is a joke.

He can thank his Great President for that. Despite JBE's policies hindering business President Trumps policies have helped the whole nations unemployment situation.

JBE is a tax and spend liberal. My auto insurance has gone up, (not violations no accidents) my property taxes have gone up, my home owners insurance has gone up. My health insurance has and continues to sky rocket because of liberal failed policies. Streets and roads in my area are in serious disrepair because money is being spent elsewhere.

The main thing I hang my hat on with Rispone is that he is not JBE, nor any other tax the rich and middle class to death to but votes from the low to lower middle class votebots. And he is in line with our Great President and the direction our great nation needs to go and is going.
And like I said, if he doesn't work out we can make a change in 2023. JBE is a typical liberal politician who twos the line for failed liberal policies. Good for California. Bad for Louisiana.

How about Rispone is a private business owner. Edwards is a politician from a family of career politicians. Rispone may not do anything good but we know Edwards cannot fix things in the state unless you are a trial attorney filing bogus legacy lawsuits against oil majors. The private business owner will get my vote over the government lackey pretty much every time in a situation like this.

Massive tax increases “cured” th he deficit, and resulted in three straight surpluses totaling roughly one billion dollars. That’s one billion dollars taken from the tax payers to prop up a bigger state budget.

Save TOPS? Edwsrds cut TOPS and then used it as a bargaining chip to raise taxes.

The employment situation is stagnant. The number of workers has been static since Edwards took office. The unemployment rate decreased as tens of thousand job seekers left the state.

As taxes increased and the anti business rhetoric increased, La. had stagnated despite a tremendous national recovery.

Yep, but at least it’s not one billion dollars taken from the taxpayers kids because we put it on the credit card.

And I’m sure you know the state can not fund the budget by borrowing money, right?

There is no credit card, there is no state debt.
There was a mid year budget shortfall when Jindal left office and Edwards raised taxes, made a few small cuts and used some one time money to fill the shortfall. There was never an end of the year deficit.

No one stole from the kids, but when Edwards raised taxes too high and produced all these surpluses, it became obvious Edwards stole from the kid’s parents.

We have no idea what hes going to do because hes barely able to put together a complete sentence in a public setting, his commercials are cringe worthy. Hes wealthy though and is a Trump supporter. Thats all he has going for him. Might as well lineup Kanye West as the next president.

Liberals??

Social program pandering and racial divisiveness through reparations is far from fiscally responsible...

So, he raised spending by X and raised taxes by x+1 and that solved LA's problems?

Would easily bury anyone in the Democratic field in a head to head debate. And I hate Kanye West... That's how pathetic the Liberal presidential pool is right now.

Don't be blaming JBE for the crime rate statistics in New Orleans and/or Baton Rouge. He only has control over the LSP and national guard. You can't use the National Guard for policing, but he has, like Jindal, placed LSP in New Orleans French Quarter. Blame the mayors, city councils, and police chiefs of those cities with high crime rates. Also, any corrupt local politics comes under the investigative direction of the La Attorney General's office, local sheriff's offices, local DA's, then the LSP. It's just ASININE to blame any sitting governor for those problems. Yeah baw, look up that work AISNINE.

I watched the debate the other night, and really wish I didn't. I am as conservative as it gets, and I'm having a really hard time voting for Rispone. The guy is an imbecile. He reminds me of a republican white version of Broome. All his answers are these idealistic principles and outcomes, with no meat or substance behind them as to how exactly we are going to accomplish them. And then when he's called out on it, he immediately reaches for Trump's name to drop.

There are a lot of innovative and smart folks we have who are into politics, yet come election time can't seem to muster up a single one. Every election, our choice is horrible in Louisiana. The only runoff that was worse than this one, was Edwards vs Duke.

I just googled aisnine but it took me to some weird fortnite channel URL. If you mean asinine, that's pretty much a 7th grade word so it's weird you asked me to look it up.

Keep making excuses for being the worst run state in almost every indicator except "Laissez les bons temps rouler" and get back to me.
