Palin's loss nevertheless extends well beyond Alaska, and exposes the much ballyhooed "Red Wave" as the fantasy that it is. America embraces the mainstream, not the right wing. The era of MAGA is over.
being transgender is mainstream. Ive got some scissors for you. Chop chop.

She checked off the same demographics box as they do, and stupid people vote based on skin color. Also, there are lots of stupid people.
This is the correct answer to pretty much any topic posted here.

She lost because democrats instituted tiered voting structure.
If the election had been run under the previous voting method (FPTP), then Peltola would have won in the first round with a plurality since the 2 republicans split the vote, or Palin (who had more votes in the primary) would have faced off directly with presumably same results.
At that point though you're saying "What if the election were held on a thursday, it may have had different results" type stuff.

They had a primary system in AK prior to this. Repubs and Dems had their own primaries, who then fought in the general.
What would have happened was Peltola vs. Palin...only way there would have been a third Republican was if Begich ran as an independent (because he wouldn't have won the Republican primary).
ETA: You really need to learn about Alaska before posting shite

I corrected it, the results though would remain the same (most likely) Peltola vs Palin.

So from what I understand, the bottom line is that the state party needs to do all it can to make sure there’s only one R on the ballot in the general election in November?

That would be the best plan of action, the open primary already took place so there are four people that will be on the ballot in a couple months (Peltola, Palin, Begich, and libertarian party dude).
The question is who does the Republican party pressure to drop out?
Palin is probably maxed out at support because this last election has shown that a pretty significant amount of Begich supporters WILL NOT vote for Palin. So do they urge Palin to drop out, in the hope that Palin supporters rally around Begich in order to keep Peltola out of office? (maybe).
OR do they try to pressure Begich to drop out and hope that they can rally ~6K+ voters that didn't rank Palin as second (or didn't rank her at all) to finally accept Palin (in order to keep out Peltola).
Idk what the most appropriate solution is, but they better figure it out fast or Alaska will have one of the most liberal Congress figures in the nation.
Most people don't realize how liberal that woman actually is (she had an excellent PR team that hid that aspect...as some people I know think she is a moderate Dem), but if they vote her in office in November they will find out sooner rather than later.
I'm hoping that if that does happen, she winds up being a one term Congresswoman similar to when Begich was elected in Obama's blue wave after Ted Stevens died.
