So, you are just making merit-less drive-by accusations about people not even involved in the current discussion?

What about it? It's just an interesting theory out there by the likes of Leonard Susskind. I'm not a scientists, but my heroes, are.

So it should be String Hypothesis?
No.

Doesn't have the same ring to it but it's a lot more accurate to be labeled as such.
Meh. Laymen get far more caught up in these terms than scientists do. But, hypothesis is more of a "I think it's possible that......" type of thing. A scientific theory is someone actually modeling the whole thing out............but, it needs to make some darned predictions that can be tested for it to take the step of being "accepted" theory.

I would simply describe String Theory is an elegant model that conforms to observation with the problem being that simply conforming to observation doesn't make it right.

Until String theorists can say, "when we look, we should see XYZ" and then say, "here's the test and what one would look for" and then, other scientists can duplicate the work independently, it's just a work in progress.

Okay. Fair enough.

Did not watch the video. The "universe as a type of hologram" is related to string theory. Assumed you'd know that, or that at least the vid would address it. My bad.

String theory is far from complete, but it's also far from "bullshite".

Right, and unless you're arguing what a scientific theory is, you just summed up what a hypothesis is. Can't predict anything with it. Can't even test it. Those are two big pieces of the scientific method puzzle missing. It essentially uses established scientific theories to try and bridge the gap and unify everything. It's not counter-productive though, because somewhere someone is working diligently to either prove or disprove some aspect associated with this idea. But that's all it is right now, an idea.

Does anyone honestly think the bulk of the science community doesn't place federal grant cash over honest assessment?

Isn't it interesting how all of the intricacies and complexities of life are rooted from nothing.

When I pick up a steak at the supermarket to grill, it doesn't come from nothing, it comes from a cow!

See, this is the problem with Christians when it comes to faith.

They think they have steak, but really all the have is a cow like every other person who believes. Steak is not different than cow just like Muslim is not different than Christian.

It's all cow.

I just checked back into this thread, and read this:

Can we all agree that I was right on the first page when I said,"omg not this thread again"?

Yes.

But this time I contributed that Jesus could get laid and it wasn't a sin.
