Is this your got ya? I like the way you changed the subject away from Allah being the God of the bible to something else.
The goal post moving going on up in here would make Bama's past few kickers look like Adam Vinatieri so it's not just you imagining this.

What do you mean? Im simply saying that you are discounting the Quran and saying that Islam is made up and Allah is not real.
Whether the Quran says Allah is God has no bearing to whether Allah is the God of the bible. It's different subjects and I don't think the Quran makes claims in it that Allah is the same God of the Jews and Christians?

But the Quran says he didnt.
The Quran was scribed form the recitations of Mohammad over a period of 20+ years, so he either made it all up, or was a true prophet, which is it?

Ok. Ill concede that Allah and the God of the Bible are different if you will concede that you believe in Allah because the Quran says so.

I believe Allah only exists within the pages of the Quran.

I refuse to patronize you out of respect. You know where im going with this. I would assume you have a reason for holding Islam to a higher level of scrutiny than Christianity. And the Quran to higher level of scrutiny than the Bible. And I would assume it goes beyond predisposition and emotional appeals. Can you confirm these assumptions with examples so that i can understand you better?

Yep, and it's an absurd point.

Justify this claim for me please.

Leave Christianity aside for a minute and just compare the historical contexts of the Jewish scriptures and the Muslim scriptures.
With Judaism, the Septuagint was composed over the course of a thousand years with at least 60 authors. That doesn't necessarily make the content correct, but it is certainly different than the writings of one man.
Comparing the two is laughable.

I have only read quotes from the Quran and not it's entirety as I have the bible so I can't compare the two. I know what I've read about Mohamed and I know what I've read about Jesus. The two lives are diametrically opposed. One was a man of peace and helped the poor and widows. One was a man of lust, violence and oppression that left many widowed.
On this alone, I would chose Christianity over Islam.
Islam even to this day shows that they promote violence and intolerance to other faiths and this isn't even touching the subject of how they treat women.
This and my years of hearing preaching, reading God's word, hearing testimonies and my own personal experiences have lead me to believe what I believe.

One could make the argument that he was less influenced than the 60th author in a line of 60, and that that makes his work more credible. Im not making that argument one way or the other but one could argue it.
In talking about Islam, I agree with you. I agree with its lack of validity. I also agree with the logic you use to discern that invalidity. That is not where we have contention.

So its a matter of preference and not truth?

Preference based on truths.

The truths are that one guys is mean and the other nice. The belief is that God is nice and therefor the nice guy must be the one who is God.

God isn't always nice as we use that word. I was simply comparing what we know of Jesus and Mohamed.

What do we KNOW of Jesus and Mohamed that sets one apart in terms of accurate portrayal of the one true deity?

Well Mohamed never claimed to be God, Jesus did. So the two aren't comparable.

Yes but he was a conduit of sorts. If you believe in the Christian god, its because of Jesus. If you believe in Allah, its because of Mohamed. So what sets one apart from the other in terms of being true?

I believe that God would be just and forgiving. Allah through his portrayal in the Quran is neither.
