Jim Brown, one of the biggest black sports activists in the world, stated less than two years ago that he would never kneel during the anthem. I guess he doesn't get it either. He said that while he respected the players' right to protest, he believes in respecting the flag while working out our differences as one nation.

It's all purple prose. I watched Cornel West on MSNPC a few nights ago and he talked for 5 minutes and didn't say a damn thing. It's very effective at roiling people up, but very poor at articulating detail. Like a caricature of a black preacher; which I guess is where the style originated.
