I am kind of in agreement here. Why aren't Republicans hammering the current admin on the shite stain they have made this contry turn into?
What did Trump do to make Republicans "lose steam"?

You know why the Republicans are "losing steam"?
1. Suppression polls
2. Lowering gas prices
3. Getting used to the misery
4. The natural ebb and flow before elections - you don't want to peak too early, but the Dems will hit their "peak" soon, and the GOP will go in on a high in November.

I would listen to his show today before reading that article. He covers this topic.

His overall premise is very simple. These elections need to be a referendum on democrats and Biden, and not Trump.

Exacly but it will still be a referendum on Trump regardless. Republicans keep playing into their hands.

While I'm some would rather tone down the Trump advocacy, I don't think it's even necessary.

Feel free to keep up the fight on MAL, etc., but we need to be spending money to take it to the Democrats. Saturate the airwaves with videos of that teacher trying to force a mask on that little boy, a SCOTUS justice not knowing what a woman is, etc.

The GOP is weak and that isn't Trump's fault. But Trump could help by caring about some of the other battles waging that don't directly involve him personally, especially as he's sucking up a ton of the available cash and energy.

The only reason they are attacking trump is because he’s at the top of the potential nominees list.

The squishes of the Republican Party will fold no matter who is at the top of the ticket. If it is Ron DeSantis all these same types of investigations and attacks will be focused on him. These same people never learn. It’s how they do politics. If these people would help stop the lies being pushed by media instead of actively going along with the “tide turning” he’s talking about wouldn’t be happening. His problem is he believes the left’s narrative and baseline for the argument. He’s usually better than this but he’s walking right into to this without seeing what the left is doing.

Agree with all of that and there is just a distinct lack of enery and action from the GOP right now aside from pithy quips on FOX. There is an outright civil war in the part right now. We should be winning this going away yet we are divided. I think everyone can line up behnd MAGA policies but they can't or won't line up behind the man.

I think you know where I am going with this.

On one hand we have a GOP that has all the cultural tools it needs to wage war on the left, and won't

On the other we have the Trump contingent that will fight what is basically an inside baseball battle over and over and over despite it being obvious that it's not a winning battle and despite there being a very real opportunity to claim a new, better victory in the very near future if that energy could be focused to productive ends.

It shouldn’t matter if Republicans even bother to campaign or not the next few election cycles. If each individual American can not take a long hard honest look at the shape the country is in and not realize they have only one choice when it comes to voting in November or in 2024. The candidates should not matter at all. If Americans want to keep the country strong and on top as a superpower then you have to vote Republican. There is no such thing as a moderate Dem anymore. They will all eventually vote down party lines. Americans have no choice in November, 2024, or even further down the road. If people want to continue to live in the most prosperous and free country as they can live in then you can only vote one way.

This is the bad side Shapiro. The dude is smart as a whip but the big money donors are pulling his strings. His authenticity is lacking.

You could put Einstein, Socrates and Aristotle in the same room as lil' Ben and he would think he was the most intelligent person in the room. He is about the only conservative I absolutely cannot stand.

Shapiro appears to be a proponent of the republican strategy of "create no conflict and people will come to your side".

This was the strategy of McCain when he spent as much time chiding his voting base for their vocal criticism of Barrack Obama as he did running against him.

This was the strategy of Mitt Romney when he basically stopped campaigning when he had the opportunity to go on offense against Obama.

In both cases, it failed miserably.

Trump was elected because he creates conflict. He picked two subjects the GOP absolutely refuses to this day to touch: immigration and China... and built the most enthusiasm within the republican party since Reagan left office. Shapiro is a beltway creature and thinks like one. His loyalty to party ends the second it threatens that DC umbilical chord, just like 99% of that party. They may be critical of democrats, but it's all theater. Both are jackals feeding on the same corpse.

MAGA is fighting them. We did it with judicial appointments and we are doing it now with local elections, especially school boards.

What is this inside baseball battle? If it's 2020 election fraud the entire purpose is to ensure fair and free elections with the Precinct Strategy. There is nothing wrong with getting people more and more involved in democracy.

We have the most unlikeable president in modern history, economic pain being felt by every American regardless of class, record crime rates, our great cities are becoming failed states, disasters at home and abroad unfolding before our eyes, a complete dissolution of our soverign integriy, foreign advesaries on the march, and a world that is even less secure.

Yet - we are projected to barley eke out a win in the House and the Senate could still be in the hands of the people who are responsible for all this. So I would like people like the OP to tell me why this is happening when we should be crushing it at the polls....yet we are not.
