I don't think it is protest related.
I'm not so sure. If you watch the full video there is yelling before that and it looks like someone gets out of the car and shoots someone behind the car. It very well could be an argument with a protestor that turned ugly.

The dude carrying the black pole looking object over his shoulder in the end looks suspect. He was right there for it but got the hell out of there instead of helping.

If you watch closely you can see the victim try to mace the shooter. He sprays mace, shooter immediately pull gun out and fires
After more review I noticed that the victim actually sprays the mace AFTER the gun is pointed at him

Looks to be a black shooter and white victim. Some were saying the white guy may have had a trump hat on. Black guy shoots him twice, pauses, then runs off as the victim stumbles to the ground.
