Ah, well done, a marketing scheme similar to the Debeers family made famous by a man named Percy maxim. Only uninformed call them silencers anymore.

You feel better about yourself?

It’s a simple fact that a silencer is a suppressor. Now does Silencer actually silence a gun shot? No it does not. Yes a suppressor/silencer actually suppresses a gun shot by suppressing the expanding gases that are exiting the muzzle.

Not if it were suppressed, especially in a compound full of buildings and sound deflections on them. Even with a 308, if it's suppressed, it's going to have that crack, but not a huge boom, especially if it was a big suppressor.

That’s all I was saying, it just sounded like a suppressed.308 with a super sonic bullet. A .308 without I feel like would’ve been much louder.

Sure? I was just stating a fact. Also in my original post, I was stating it seemed the sound seemed somewhat like a suppressed rifle. Nothing more or less. If you want to insist though I’m more than happy to prove you wrong.

iPhone mics are not the greatest recording devise for distinguishing suppressed vs unsuppressed shots.

With the amount of buildings and walkways around the scene, you may be hearing reverberating sounds

Prove me wrong that silencers don’t exist?

I understand this, I’m going to assume you’ve shot with suppressors in the past. I was saying, from the videos I’ve seen, it just sounded suppressed to me. I was curious if others may have heard the same thing or something different. It really wasn’t much more than that. It just sounded different than a typical high velo rifle shot

Yes I own a few, and I’ve also recorded videos of me shooting suppressed with my phone. It can be hard to distinguish suppressed vs non suppressed on an iPhone video unless you can see the muzzle.
