I first heard this when my son told me his new position coach at one of our "Great Louisiana Universities" discussed this and other racial issues prior to position meetings. The coach said that since the police were formed to chase down escaped slaves that is one of the reasons "...we are targeted by the police." Other racial and racial grievance discussions were lead by this coach on a daily basis.

That’s not true. Policing started in England with a position called the Shire reef. That evolved into Sheriff and evolved into law enforcement.
