So the House Dems will say “we impeached him, but the Senate Rs won’t assure us that there will be a fair trial, so what’s the point...we aren’t sending them over”. ?

I don't think they have any intentions of sending them over under any circumstances.
They will simply campaign against an "impeached" president while declaring any and all appointments, EO's, and FP moves invalid as media giddily parrots their lies syllable by syllable. Blue states will start suing to have him removed from the ballot and there will be lawsuits galore. Welcome to scorched earth, third world politics!
