The majority is voting for Jordan you idiot.
A larger majority voted for Kevin McCarthy. Didn't do him any good.

You'd think Jordan would get the message by getting less and less votes each time

I have new respect for Steve Scalise. He saw the numbers in conference and decided to not even embarrass himself. And I guarantee he would have received more votes than Jordan.

So he lost another 5 votes since the last one?
Lowest vote total for leading speaker candidate since the house reached 435 reps.

I believe he lost 3 today, with one previous voter in his favor being absent today.
New defectors today:
Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) - McHenry
Thomas Kean (NJ) - McCarthy
Marcus Molinaro (NY) - Zeldin
Absent
Derrick Van Orden (MN) - previous Jordan vote

Reminder … it took 15 rounds to elect the previous Speaker, Kevin McCarthy.

And the reason we are here is that McCarthy cut a deal to get the job then violated the deal and dared Gaetz to remove him.
We aren’t here if McCarthy doesn’t get elected Speaker to begin with or fulfilled his promises.

Why do you care so much abt some extortions coming from colleagues that McCarthy didn't follow through on? You act like McCarthy went on live TV and made promises to the poli board. Telling a couple of reps to go fck themselves is not equal to lying to "we duh people".

January 6.
Promises made on that are important to the House, the GOP, and the fricking American people.
And McCarthy promised to release everything on that but did not.
People like to pretend that day was 9/11 times a million but they can only use Hollywood scripted shite to show how bad it was.

Which is stupid because he really didn't break his promise. He can only bring up bills that have passed through committee. None could even reach that.

That’s a different way of saying McCarthy didn’t keep his word and got the boot.

Did he make those promises to get elected to the House of Representatives?
You have nothing to do with who the House elects as its speaker.
McCarthy didn't promise the American people anything to get elevated to the Office of The Speaker.

You ever think that maybe the videos don't show what would help the party? Like maybe there is shite in the tapes that actually show people breaking the law.

It's so obvious. I'm shocked they can't figure it out.

Then release all of it, not just the Pelosi mix tape of it.

He already released the best version possible to the bowtie guy.

For clarification’s sake …
Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
speaker pro tempore
