So we can use “knocked on you arse for a week” the baseline for insignificant as far as symptoms go?

Healthy and in her 30's, not at risk to spread it to anyone else, didn't have any respiratory issues that required thought about an ER vistit.. What's your point?

It's clearly the ease of transmission that has healthcare workers and officials worried

Of course. Multiple times I’ve said the data review 18 months from now will be interesting.

OK so that's in one locality

That doesn't necessarily extrapolate nation wide

And that's in line with CDC recommendations. You aren't supposed to have a fever to get checked.

But the idea that people are bored and there is a massive amount of testing going on nationwide is ludicrous. We're behind the curve on testing.

I thought he was talking about the obese woman with zero underlying issues.

My apologies to him.

How many people died from what would be a good starting point. Slipping on banana peels? AIDS? I assume you meant H1N1

Good assumption, since this is a thread about H1N1 and a replied to someone directly about it with that series of questioning.

If that was your question I believe it was answered rather clearly

There are two questions quoted in your post... I’m impressed you are sticking with this fingers in your ears routine

The average symptoms seem more mild than your mothers.

So why are you going on about symptoms?

FFS

The public notice was for testing limited to those with a fever

CDC says says a doctor should use his discretion.

Now, here, you can drive through and get a test without a fever. That is brand new. Piss off.

You still ducking the question of providing any context on the H1N1 death number because you think I’m going to confuse you with math again

You didn't really clearly articulate your question

You asked if it was a good baseline number to be considered insignificant. Insignificant compared to what? The number will almost assuredly be dwarfed by the death toll of CV19

My mom contracted H1N1 back in 09 or 10 (likely from working at the hospital). She woke up sick one morning, got knocked on her arse for a week while never leaving the guest room, then was fine. No one else in the house got sick, no trips to the hospital to be on a ventilator for a few weeks

You just described the normal Covid case.

Anyone that downplays 2009 H1N1 flu didn’t work in a hospital. It was somewhat unusual in that it affected young people worse than older people. We had 5 adolescent boys died at our hospital.I had an urgent surgery in December, while I was recuperating a guy I went to school with died from it.His wife had it also but she recovered.

It's definitely serious. I just think the death toll and impact on hospitals from this will be much more severe once it all plays out
