re: Disney tacitly admits it made a multi-billion dollar mistake with 'Star Wars' land

To be fair to Kennedy, the idea to be forward looking is the right one.
Not sure I agree. Why spend so much in the IP? It’s worth something for a reason. You buy the IP to just create new movies, merch and experiences? The theme park could have been a revenue anchor of straight nostalgia while gambling on the movies.
Not to mention, the people buying theme park tickets is and will continue to be in the original trilogy demographic. By the time that is untrue, it will be outdated anyway. Lastly, the newest trilogy did indeed use the original characters. So being completely forward looking doesn’t make sense to me…Mario world, simpsons land, magical kingdom, harry potter world, Disney studios or whatever it’s called now…none of the current theme park themes are “forward looking” they all revolve around established IP.

I think it’s definitely a notable advantage, but not necessarily unfair.

Also ask you, in the context of this thread, with the info the OP gave, where is confirmation?
And I will again ask you, what confirmation do you need? What do you think is being negotiated? And why would it fail?
Iran apparently won’t commit to our demands, which include not pursuing weapons grade uranium enrichment, or the ability to do so. I don’t understand what you even want confirmed.

On the other, they are public servants and taking criticism is part of the job. This might deter other people who have real complaints from speaking up when it's actually necessary.
Expecting public servants to get shite on (including intentional instigation, harassment and potential violence we have seen) has and will continue to deter decent people from taking the job in the first place.
re: Iran reported making nuclear bomb

I’m guessing his point for posting the old article is Iran has been seeking a nuclear bomb for 40 years.
People can’t be bothered to understand the basic scope here, cmon now.
quote:
Even funnier than that, there was zero evidence in the video or anything else you posted, that confirms that Iran had been trting to acquire nuclear weapons. JD did not confirm that. He only confirmed they had enrichment facilities. He did not even come close to saying it was for weapon grade.
What proof are you actually looking for? Receipts from Uranium Depot? What do you suppose we are negotiating?
Nobody wants to have the same conversation about this entire conflict and the broader regional turmoil that influences it. With Iran, we are well past the point of trying to catch them with their hand in the enriched uranium jar - we are asserting that they won’t have the chance to do that again. So call out that policy and the actions surrounding it all you want, but requiring proof for something that can only be more proven by a massive explosion is simply unproductive.
quote:
This from the same administration that said they had eliminated their entire nuclear program a year ago?
The clip was maybe a minute long, JDV addressed this very directly. The facilities are destroyed, but there is no commitment from Iran to not acquiring the capabilities to develop them again.
You can disagree with the policy, but the admin has been consistent. They are not waiting for them to build up facilities again before going on offense. This was from the same press release that you are referring to from June 2025
quote:
Vice President JD Vance: “I can say to the American people with great confidence that they are much further away from a nuclear program today than they were 24 hours ago. That was the objective of the mission, to destroy that Fordow nuclear site, and of course, do some damage to the other sites as well, but we feel very confident that the Fordow nuclear site was substantially set back, and that was our goal.”
To keep hanging on a single phrase that they were “totally obliterated” inhibits your ability to understand the current position we are in. Again, being critical of the strategy and our interests in the ME is one thing, but to insinuate that the administration is lying because you don’t approve of the attacks blinds you from the fact that they are finishing what they started.

Pride. Generally fuels all the others in my opinion. The human ego is a hellacious motivator.
The way I see it, we are seeing pride and accountability becoming less common. People with no pride have never been more powerful. Those that cannot take care of their own families are demanding for more.
Airports are more crowded than ever with slovenly passengers. People show up to court like they just got out of bed. Gofundme’s being passed around for criminals. Massive and blatant fraud in social welfare programs. Mainstream Ho behavior in women of all ages. I could go on.
Meanwhile, our entire consumer economy seems to be driven but what other people have. Multiple vacations, $70k+ cars, flagship smartphones, etc are all normal now.
In my view, pride is a control of envy. While pride can be a “deadly sin,” I think it has diminished to a point where envy dominates. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that women have seized more control from men in this time period
It’s always been envy.

That’s not really what’s going on.
From what I know about Tucker, Candace and Alex jones, they have become more and more outlandish throughout the years.
Tucker, in particular, has become almost a different person. He went from mainstream conservative juggernaut just a few years ago, to easily being lumped in with Alex Jones.
Nothing wrong with accountability, conservatives practice this with their leaders to a fault. It isn’t new. But the people at least listed in the OP (not reading that tweet holy shite man), seem to have fluctuating opinions and increasingly outlandish takes, which deserve accountability in their own right. In my opinion, they are all pushing someone else’s narrative.
