Twitter and reddit
Twitter is a function of who you follow, which in my case is mainly sports-related.
Reddit first exploded after digg self-destructed, and it was actually basically un-moderated, amazingly open and welcoming to all interests, which was sort of the point.
Then Ellen Pao became CEO and began a huge campaign of censorship, which was furthered when a Chinese company invested millions of dollars in the platform.
IMO, it's now a shell of its open-rooted, former self, and viewing the front page on any random day will you give you an idea of who is heavily moderating the news and opinions there now.

I wish they would've touched more on the "what exactly is the end game".
We know this is all going on, all over the world, but what exactly is the the reason? Is it just to politically and socially destabilize countries or regions?

Money. And greed.
There’s big bucks to be made from controlling people to think (and vote) a certain way.

I know people have different theories on this....but i genuinely think its more capitalistically driven than anything...they are businesses that want to make as much money as possible, consequences be damned.
Zuckerberg didn't start facebook so that he could collect all this data to sell to advertisers....but thats what evolved...

They touch on this. Facebook was built, but it wasn't clear how to make money. So they hire a guy to figure out how to monetize it (he's interviewed). The advertising model made the most sense, but it also flipped the dynamic between user, Facebook and advertisers. Since Facebook is selling to advertisers, the user becomes the product. And what they are selling is your attention span.
