I think it is true that the administration greatly overestimated the Iranian public's readiness to topple the current regime. Thus, we've had a more significant global economic blowback that they may have thought they could have avoided if the regime was dealing with internal upheaval. That never materialized, so the Hormuz has become a bit of a bleeding ulcer for the US.
However, the US could win this war any time it wants if they don't care about the geopolitical prestige/trust we would lose by utterly destroying Iran's ability to support base needs for survival for its population. Trump's statement today suggests that we're leaning towards doing something like that. Would it be war crimes? Yeah, sure, but he'd just be jumping in the pool past admins have dipped a toe in.

Are you saying that’s the only thing that would or could be considered a “win” by the U.S., is “us having Iran run by another group?” That’s the exclusive “win” we can possibly even get?

Hegseth has claimed that regime change has already occurred. At this point if regime change doesn't happen I'm not sure it's that much of a success. The clock is running out though. We have weeks to get the strait open before the global economic effects reach ridiculous levels.
One interesting thing you might want to consider...aerial warfare is only a snapshot in the total history of warfare. Full regime change via aerial warfare during this time has happened precisely 0 times. Does that make it impossible? No. It just means it hasn't happened yet. Eventually it will and hopefully it's this time and hopefully it happens within the next 10 days.

There’s no subjectiveness to it… a large portion of TDS losers in this country, most certainly are rooting for Iran.

The talking point should be that the only reason we are at war with Iran is because a traitor send them 2 planes full of cash that is supporting their regime.
