As long as you've been on this board you think we're
Tell me you're not being serious....every 2nd amendment a-hole on here ENCOURAGES safety courses whether you carry or not.
We're happy that a state is saying "frick you" to the socialists on the left about guns.

The whole point of the permit is you have to take a safety course. You completely ignored that part of my statement. Disingenuous a-hole.

Here in the gump, they don't run your info if you have a valid carry permit on gun purchases. You still have to fill out the paperwork, but you simply sign and walk out without the info having been faxed/called in.
Yeah, they do that in LA for the 5 year permit holders- but not on the lifetime holders (me)- which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You still have to refresh the course every 5 years like everyone else.
But, that's Louisiana.

"The right of people who have had safety courses to bear arms shall not be infringed."
Right?
Right?

Has nothing to do with it until a lot of laws are either passed or overturned, which I support...
Until they are removed, you are going to have to operate within the laws as they exist TODAY...

Not in Alabama... I imagine in many states this is not a requirement for obtaining a CCW...

What about my right to life? My right not to get shot by an idiot with a gun who doesn't know how to use it?
Posted on 1/30/19 at 1:42 pm to AggieDub14
What are your odds of that happening?

Holy fascism batman. You want the government to force people to carry guns? Force private business to operate in a certain way?
I am a libertarian when I am not in charge and a totalitarian maniac who gives people the ability to be responsible for their defense and accountable for their behaviors when I am in charge. Sue me.

We already have that ability. You don't need to force guns into people's hands to accomplish that.

You really should exercise your right to play on the yellow line in the highway at night...

Hell, yeah. This needs to be fricking Federal law!
I have said for years that I would never get a CC permit for a number of reason. Firstly because you are straight up on a list that is going the be the number one target when they do come for our guns.
But for other reasons as well. Like, I have always thought the concealed carry law is just outright stupid. You are telling me it is more dangerous for someone to have a handgun on their person that is exposed for all to see?
Thirdly criminals are already breaking the law for concealment so how is the law helping anything. Do robbers say.... hmmm... I better not conceal this pistol as that is illegal as they head to the nearest convenience store to rob it.
It was never passed to do anything other than control the lawful citizen just like the background check bullshite.
I have no problem with the background check except that other than denying a criminal a gun, it is a rare thing for that person to actually be prosecuted.
Just more laws made for you and I instead of criminals.

The problem is that so many places do not allow you to carry a gun with you. Odds are, at least one place along your daily routine does not allow firearms. People are being disarmed by policy. This is one way to re-arm them and "even the playing field". Most people who are robbed at gun point are robbed while going to or from a bar or a school, both places where possessing a weapon is not allowed. Most workplaces do not permit weapons on site. What use is a right to carry arms if you can't actually bring them where you need to go? A right without a remedy is a shibboleth.
