I think his point is they are not sophisticated enough to know this is upsetting to a decent portion of the base.

Upsetting?

Read the room. It's clearly an issue for many of the educated-urban MAGA supporters.

How can you argue your policies are "America First" when Americans are being fired and replaced with H1Bs?

I would think there are at least a few thousand goldennuggets out there. Is it hundreds of thousands? I don't know.

quite frankly, yes but that wasn’t really my point. The world you/they grew up in no longer exists. Over half of the population lives in major metro areas. Jobs have become increasingly concentrated in just a few of these metro areas.

I’m from a small town. And so is my entire family. The ones who didn’t go to college and never lived and worked in a city are truly clueless about this stuff. They think being good at Microsoft excel is still a marketable skill

It’s crazy how we could do like 3 things and it’d fix America forever but nobody is willing to do them

With the way data processing and AI is progressing. Those in the trades are sitting on a gold mine.

Ok, so the reason that the big tech firms hire Indians and Chinese that come from American universities instead of American students is based on the fact they have higher qualifications? No, that doesn’t make sense.

So it’s based on them being better at the job? No, they can’t know that till they get there. And as someone who works in the industry, all students that come out of school have very low expectations for actual output.

Those jobs most assuredly can go to Americans, as that job field has the highest unemployment of any engineering/stem degree. Even higher than degrees like lit and such.

The mass 'legal' immigration only serves to line the pockets of corporate America via de facto slave labor, or at least much cheaper labor.

It’s multi millions and they are going to present a real problem in the ‘28 GOP presidential primary.

ICE rounded up a bunch of Koreans in GA who were engineers and technicians installing an auto factory. That kind of thing was probably cooked up by dem subversives inside of the ICE bureaucracy.

Needless to say, it was an incident that did damage to foreign investment here and created a diplomatic incident.

One, Trump is right, we make very few chips (right now) in the states, we dont have the skills to make high end chips, its what H1B visas were made for.

Two, the East Indian hate is strong here. You do realize Taiwan and South Korea will be building the plants, why on earth would they use East Indian labor???????

Three, the H1B visa problem is a tech industry problem not an East Indian problem. The companies hold their visas, force them to work for the wages they pay, and if they even think about looking for another job that would pay the wages they would attract in the open market the visa is pulled.

The problem is Trump is responding to criticisms of this:

quote:

By dishonestly responding with comments on this:

quote:

Two, the East Indian hate is strong here. You do realize Taiwan and South Korea will be building the plants, why on earth would they use East Indian labor???????

So that NPCs will respond like this:

quote:

He's not wrong in this regard. Bush's "No child left behind" crap did nothing but hinder those students who excelled by yoking them to the slowest and most stubborn mules in the class. The federal government has ruined the overall education system of the states with the promise of candy (funding) for certain favors (mandates to receive that funding).

It does no one any good to give a failing child a passing grade in order to boost his self esteem. Identify areas of weakness in a student's comprehension or abilities and address the issue head on to ensure that child/student has a chance of succeeding in his adult life.

Until we fix our education system and demand quality performance we will continue to find ourselves in need of imported skilled workers. Equity and inclusion is only going to provide people who are content to sit around smoking a doob' and being content to giggle at mundane crap while living in poverty and squalor.

quote:

Trump is trolling our entire education system, the teacher's unions, academia...

quote:

You act like we havent seen what these college kids are doing and acting like

I dont see many skilled kids these days. Its a nightmare to hite them

No kid left behind was a disaster

quote:

Public education in the United States is, and has been, a literal joke for decades.

#Woke replaced merit with identity. And it started in our public schools and institutions of higher learning.

Even this is a band-aid if we don't correct all of that.

#Facts

Of course. Everything he says is right, no matter how wrong it really is.

Vivek says we need H1Bs, MAGA melts. Trump says we need H1Bs, MAGA rejoices.

That’s a bit dishonest

Vivek got flamed for a lot more than being pro h1b. What he said is gross for an immigrant
