I loathe it, and will ridicule anyone who supports it, but its a losing political strategy.
Most Americans have given up any ideals related to personal responsibility. They'll punish you for holding them to it.
Abortionists are shitty excuses for human beings, but they are in the majority.

You know what they don't like more? Making abortion illegal with no exceptions.

2022 was one of the most historic Ls ever taken by an opposition party. Extremist abortion boogeymen were a major part in that L.
2 super red states couldn't even get absolute abortion restrictions passed. You think this strategy will work in purple states?

Huh, what am I missing? Isn't that my complaint, that Republicans (including Trunmp) have shied away from the RvW victory after 50 years of work to get it done. Trump was out bragging about the vaccines, instead of touting the huge dobbs victory that he was directly involved with making happen. And now seems to almost be ashamed of it.
Happily married with 4 kids we did not kill
You do realize the Hobbs victory did not ban abortions, right? It passed it to States rights.
It is a victory because R v W was flawed
Pence announced a national complete abortion ban. So you are the 1% or so that votes for Pence in primary polls?

So he goes after social conservatives and was a big spender—-what would you describe him as politically??
What is the word???
I think it starts with a “L”.

Even conservative women have abortions.
Hope this helps, Angus.

A boogyman is by definition a caricature. Your point? The right didn't even try to make a reasonable argument.

Republicans ran away from the issue. The first thing out of the box on the day after the election was a whole slew of posts on here about how abortion is a failed issue and we need to just concede 100%. No.
Once again, what were Republicans running on in 2022? You seem to want to ignore that because it's inconvenient to your point. They ran on nothing other than get Trump. That was their only message.

Plenty of polls out there showing people want restrictions on abortions. You seem to have a lot of time on your hands. Go find them.

The problem for the GOP was primarily 3 issues.
1. They cannot disseminate messaging for shite, and they allowed the DEMs to frame the issue, as always.
2. The most energized population of the GOP was the crazy extremists, who got the loudest voice in celebration.
3. Many states had old, "no exception" laws on the books, which prevented a more moderate approach to the state-based issue post-Hobbs. This amplified the messaging referenced in #1 and created fear porn easily distributed nationwide.
Now, what we see is a politician who understands the data and polling, making a conservative (but not extremist) position that is palatable to most of America and the extremists are melting down over it and turning their back on him. What will be the messaging? That it's a state's right issue? No. It will be focused on the extremist melting down because Trump wasn't extreme enough for them.

Because they had already shackled themselves to extremists.

Giving 3 small exceptions is nohwere near 100%

Uh, I'm not the one who keeps changing the definition of TDS making it incomprehensible, just like "globalism", et al.

The mainstream did, for sure.
However, most media content followed the Anti Abortionists so the pop culture folks don't understand the difference.

this is just Trump deflecting from his failures in the mid terms.
Herschel was his man and had a strong anti abortion stance (except it seems when it applied to his women).

Back in my college days, waiting tables, we'd have a problem with the glasses. The dishwasher used scalding hot water, so when the glasses came out, if we put ice and liquid in them, they'd crack and of course they'd go into the garbage. Then we had fewer glasses, which meant they had to be washed more frequently, which meant they spent a larger % of their lifespan being hot, which led to more broken glasses, then fewer glasses, and the problem escalated exponentially.
Moral: things take time, and if you rush them, you'll end up with nothing. And by "nothing", I don't just mean abortions until the age of 18, I mean you will own nothing and be "happy."

It falls within their self-created malleable term.
Are you now claiming this board doesn't support pointing out when things are (D)ifferent?
You may want to go look on page 1 to police some threads, then *
