The rape thing always gets me. I’ve yet to come across a single instance of pregnancy by rape. I’m talking about real rape, not Suzie banged a 4 and then decided later she was forced to when her friends found out.
That’s my problem. We’ve given women a zero sum responsibility in life. There are zero consequences for poor decisions for a woman. Don’t want to try in your marriage? Divorce your husband and take half of everything he owns. Don’t want to raise a child? Abort it and how dare you think the man that contributed the genetic material has any say so.
You want equal pay and also want 6 months paid maternity leave which forces a business to cover for you for extended periods of time. There’s an admin where I work that’s been on maternity leave 3 times in 4 years. And extended leave during two of them. So in the last four years she’s gotten almost exactly 1 full year off, paid and benefitted. And that of course doesn’t count vacation and personal time.
This whole thing at its roots is just another way for women to escape any responsibility for their actions. So they latch on to the most remotest of remote scenarios as some moral gotcha all in the name of trying to justify their lack of accountability.
