This is the face of winning!! Obama would never call out the Fed for this! Of course, he probably doesn't know how the whole process even works!

Is he saying the Fed needs to correct this? Or is he stating that his opinion is correct?

Why not just make 1 cut of 50bps then?
There is certainly a chance they do.

Reasons they wouldn't:
(A) The Powell Fed has shown proclivity to move in 25BP increments,
(B) Given "A" a 50BPS move might be interpreted as negative economic signaling, and
(C) 50BPS would be considered an admission of an overt Fed error last Fall.

I think Trump should leave the Fed alone. I think the Fed needs to be insulated from politics.

This is probably the only disagreement I have with Trump.

This is a huge point. Brian Wesbury has been saying lately that the Fed is simply cutting bc if they don’t and the economy continues to improve then it makes them (the Fed) look stupid. If the cut, and the economy keeps chugging along, they can say “see we told you so.” And FWIW, Dr Kelly has essentially said the same thing.

The current Fed Funds futures contract in December says we will be closer to 1.5% and the futures market consistently over-estimate the Federal Funds Rate when they are systematically changing the rate. This is a cool visualization of that phenomenom. The grey areas are when they were changing rates as a policy perscription. Expect more than just a 50 bps cut.
