Private businesses deserve the freedom from government interference right up to the point it undermines the ability for a nation to support itself. Importing non-citizens to do jobs they can’t effectively do abroad and export the jobs that can be done abroad is a good way to hollow out this nation and turn it into a shell to move money around to keep the global system functioning while people here suffer from lowering life expectancies and standards of living.

so, this is either:
1. FAKE NEWS
2. He misunderstood

I bet you thought this was a "gotche"!!

Bottom line – President Trump is referencing H2B visas which he does use, and not H1B visas which he does not use. Whether President Trump conflated the issue, or whether the Murdoch owned New York Post intentionally constructed their questioning to create a clickbait controversy, is entirely up to the reader to determine. I think it’s likely a combination.

Why are so many stuck on this topic without also discussing h1b reform?

Did anyone have a problem with Bush in 1990 then Jr in 2004?
Yes. People have been complaining about it for decades. I don't have a strong opinion about it at this point, but I can recall it coming up.
