quote:When did he do this?
He's off to a bad start by cutting the poor off from food, medical care, and harassing the homeless

Seems he missed the entire Christian message.

quote:
You gotta have both is all I'm saying.
You have to have faith first though. That’s the danger of focusing on works so heavily. You can easily end up slipping into focusing on works entirely and never getting to step one which is faith. Good works are a natural result of faith but “good work” (which aren’t really good, it’s all filthy rags) is not a substitute for faith.
quote:
The Devil believes yet he is faithless.
Exactly. Satan doesn’t trust God and sees himself as deserving to be God. His head knowledge means nothing for salvation. He is entirely self directed.
quote:
Faith takes action else it's just belief.
If by action you mean good works, yes good works do come from a person who is genuinely saved. To reiterate the earlier point, when we go out of order and put actions and works before faith, we miss Christ entirely. We must first have faith and then good works come naturally from that. This goes right to the heart of Matthew 7 I believe it is where Jesus teaches that many of those who did good works ended up trusting in those works instead of him for salvation and they’ll be told to depart from him. I agree that if you’re a professing Christian and there is absolutely no good fruit from your life, you should evaluate if your trust is genuinely in God or if it’s simply a cultural thing you do. I just fear for so many Christians that they get so hyper focused on doing good works that they completely miss Jesus in the process.

I hope he gets to heaven. We may disagree in politics, but he is still my brother and pray for his success.

Works are evidence of faith. Its the faith that saves you.

Was Jesus enabling when he fed the poor and for us to give our goods to them? How about when he healed the lame?

Still, you haven't answered my earlier questions. Will the poor no longer be able to eat? Will they no longer be able to get healthcare? Will the homeless no longer be able to live on the sidewalks amongst filth?
