Back in his bowtie days, he was considered a phony conservative. A squish.

Tucker has been like this since he left Fox. But most didn't want to see it. It was his 1-2 hour long conversation about Aliens and how he saw one that was a key indicator for me.

He's been like that since BEFORE he left Fox.

That's WHY he left Fox.

And according to him (not me) he was fired from Fox, he didn't "leave" voluntarily.

The amazing thing to me is the expectation that some people have from all the political commentators and "influencers" that people listen too and follow offer an opinion that they do not agree with some how discredits all the opinions they once agreed with.

No one is right 100% of the time.

Sometimes the worse people in the world offer proper and right opinions. Sometimes the best people in the world offer wrong and bad opinions.

It part of being human and imperfect.

Fox News fired him because he wanted to talk about the 2020 election fraud, specifically the Dominion case.

Once again?

If it's not Candace it's Tucker.

Is your common thread obsession the criticism of Trump? Isreal?

Or might this be an extension of the Levin-Loomer universe projection?

I'm sorry that you like Tucker but he's insane. I really am. I've stated for a long time that Tucker was batshit crazy, just as i stated, before it was cool, that Candace Owens was also crazy and an attention whore. It's not a 1 issue thing that led me to this.

I've always found his forced laughs to be very strange. His alien belief. He had an episode about demons. Not demonic behavior, but physical demons. Then his assortment of conspiracy theories. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a flat earther.

Just because we share most of the same political beliefs, doesn't mean he can't be batshit crazy. Your problem, is you become too emotionally invested in political people when you need to realize that EVERYONE in the political world is a scum bag. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. It's your job, as an adult, to use your brain and discern truth from reality, and not just pick a team to support.

You guys. Putty in Levin's and Loomer's mis-directional, diversionary hand.

That's a predictable feature of populism.

A conservative commentator, for example, will offer opinions based on his or her application of conservative principles to any given issue.

There is some room for disagreement within that framework. Take the legality of porn, for example.

On one hand, conservative principles have historically deferred to keeping government out of the lives of every day citizens as much as possible and trusting them with maximum freedom and requiring individual responsibility to mitigate the consequences.

On the other hand, conservative principles also have historically sought to preserve and protect the nuclear family and there's plenty of evidence to suggest that porn undermines that vital institution.

Two true conservatives could disagree on that issue with one prioritizing the freedom/responsibility angle and the other prioritizing the institutional family angle.

Populism doesn't work that way. There are no principles to appeal to with populism. People may invoke something like a principle, but there is no consistent, coherent framework to consult.

The only principle in populism is Us vs Them.

That's why it's all or nothing when it comes to accepting or rejecting a podcaster, for example. Or anyone else, for that matter. If the person in question is solidly classified as an Us, then you defend whatever they say. All of it. With only rare exception. If the person is a Them, then you reject everything they say. All of it. With rare exception.

And populism demands unreasonable levels of discontent fed by doomsday predictions and conspiracy theories. Huckster was more than willing to peddle those, going all the way back to when he was with Fox.

Someone upthread opined that he might have an addiction problem. I think he does.

I think he's become addicted to populism and supplying conspiracy theories to feed it. I think the same thing has happened to Candace Owens.

I think they both enjoyed the bump in popularity they got when they first started peddling the nonsense and they got addicted to it and just like any drug it required bigger and bigger doses (more outrageous theories) to get the same reaction (high), and now they are dependent on them just to keep a core audience (keep the DTs away).

If either of them went back to honest (albeit biased) journalism tomorrow, they'd lose 3/4 of their audience, and they know it.

I think they've made a Faustian bargain and they are trapped in it.

Correct. I am not emotionally invested in Tucker, despite sharing similar political beliefs. I'm able to call him crazy, based on his actions, and not feel compelled to defend him just because i like some things he says.

That's called being non-biased and logical. Again, you are proving my point with each post. You can't separate your emotions from a logical point of view. So when Tucker says the next ridiculous thing, you'll be here trying to defend it. Exactly as the left does. They too, are controlled by emotions and MUST defend every act every leftist commits. Why? Because they chose politics as their religion, and they believe their living worth, is tied to what politicians tell them.

Don't be like the left. Call out idiots, even when they agree with you.

Nah. It’s all so intellectually lazy. They (conspiracy theories) are the easiest thing to claim and the hardest thing to prove.

But the mere fact that Tucker, Candace, etc truly believe that our government is capable of some of the most outlandish things and I can’t even get Tamiqua to call me back from the IRS is fricking hilarious.
