I witnessed a few naturalization ceremonies in Iraq for vets who did it the right way.

He should of followed suit.

You're doing it wrong. You're supposed to escalate the argument, not admit your enemy's logic or a shortcoming on your part.

Amateur.

Didn't they care that he was the valedictorian of whatever school he went to and probably a doctor serving in an underserved community? I don't know these facts for sure, but I thought all those subject to deportation were those things.

He was given a general discharge after getting caught smoking weed on base

And the truth is he was probably caught a few times smoking weed on post. For E-4 and below, the first offense is usually just a field grade article 15.

As far as the coke, personally, I think drugs should be legal, but the fact is they aren't. And it's not like he had an 8 ball.

I feel bad for his family but I can't argue the deportation, regardless of service. Millions of vets have PTSD and they aren't involved in highly illegal activities. And two pounds makes me wonder if he's affiliated with a cartel.

I had a couple guys from boot camp when I went that we’re granted citizenship upon their graduation of boot camp. Is that not how it works? Genuinely ignorant how it works.

Nice "Gotcha" attempt though, OP.

Took what, 4 posts to completely deflate the attempt?

That line means you have to follow certain rules. Including not being a criminal. This guy was convicted on a drug charge in 2008. Making him ineligible for citizenship.

Yep these people think that they can smoke marijuana and still become a citizen. Not happening
