doesn't that aim to cut overall immigration bigtime?
Yes ... legally, by developing a new legal standard.

Actually, no. It isn't just a cap; its better. It creates a point system that prioritizes education, employment, and direct family relations.
It's strikingly similar to Canada and Australia's systems.
What is your exact opposition to the bill?

It's hard to take a poll seriously when people don't know what the new immigration law is or understand it.
It's similar to when you look at Trump's terrible approval numbers in a poll. Just because people don't approve of him doesn't mean they still wouldn't vote for him.

It doesn't allow unchecked immigration.

At the moment, it's the fact that 1) Trumpkins are touting it and 2) it is designed to slash total legal immigration, when my prior is that legal immigration is probably too difficult. A slight majority of foreign-born US residents have at least a bachelors as it is! That's way higher than the native population, and that's what our system is doing, and IMV should be doing faster.
I'd probably support if it were modified to meaningfully raise the amount of skilled immigrants coming in. No way it can do that by cutting overall immigrants in half.

Well you are not worthy of having anyone take the time to discuss anything with you

People who have, despite their claims of only having a problem with illegal immigration, consistently demonstrated strong anti-immigrant sentiments- which I do not share to put it mildly- come out loudly in support of an immigration bill that aims to slash legal immigration and I'm supposed to think otherwise by default? Idiot.
