Jon Stewart's most valuable skills are his wit and his incredible ability to throw his debate opponents into a tail spin via deflection. I've seen him debate superior intellectuals and beat them easily because he gets under their skin with his crude vulgarity and uncanny ability to seamlessly transition away from topic without being called out on it.
I would own that sanctimonious a-hole in a heartbeat in a one-on-one, and that's not even a brag. You just have to maintain your cool against someone whose primary weapon is diversion.
