Who is “we” you claim Knows nothing of this virus? Your grandma live in NY/NJ/Penn/Michigan because there governors are taking care of all the grandmas already, no need to worry about us giving it to them.
Let me ask you....the states opened up with no masks requirements....told us we were fine....now we are supposed to wear them, just about mandatory in some states....what new science backed data has come out in the recent weeks that has shown this to be effective? The libs love to reference “science” for their restrictions on Americans....so what science has come out that we didn’t know back in March/April/May that we know now?
Oh and Of coarse “science” based on naturally occurring phenomena’s decided that mass protest with thousands congregating would not cause spreading of the virus....really only from getting haircuts, eating out with limited people at your table, and pumping some iron at the gym are the culprits of this virus spreading. Damnit Darwin

Believe it or not, there are many people who already rightly recognize that we will be in a far better place in a year, three years, five years, if people under 60 get exposed, either get sick or not, and move on with life. Just like we did when 240,000,000 people were exposed to H1N1.
If you’re old or sick, or both, mask away. There are about 10,000,000 already exposed. Math should tell you the virus is past containment.

I'm not disagreeing with you on the overall merits, just the precision of facts.
There is little question that 24 million, perhaps 30+ million have been infected (even if completely asymptomatic). We just don't know because we haven't tested (nor are we likely to ever) test every single American. Your term "exposed" is somewhat vague, because folks can be exposed and never be infected or pop hot on an antibody test - you need the exposure and the immune response even for that.
So, the number "exposed" could be approaching 100 million already, but that is pure speculation.
It is clearly past containment. Folks over 70 should be cautious, as should folks with compromised immune systems (or, perhaps a number of comorbidities). Otherwise, living in fear, stress, financial ruin some are proposing are worse than the fricking virus.
