Interestingly enough, the battles between tribes were usually about resources, not land per se. Once an area became harsh or unfruitful, they would move on.

I saw that picture in a book about the American west. I believe it was in the book pictured below. It’s a good book to have in your collection.
As others have mentioned, it relates to manifest destiny. That image captured the spirit of exploration, settlement, and taming of the wild that was in the mindset of 19th century Americans.

We love our slaves that's why we freed them from the Democrat plantations! !

It’s basically muscle memory for you leftists now. “But muh slavery” is your auto reply to anything positive about our country

In all seriousness that was the single worst decision ever. What a plague it has been all so we could industrialize our farms. It would be like putting gas in your car that gives you better fuel economy, but the kicker is that the electrical system self destructs, the windshield disappears when rain hits it, if you go over 35 your tires blow up. Sure you get better fuel economy, but at what cost.“(Quote j1)
Rational assessment, j, albeit with hindsight. They say that “God works in mysterious ways”, and maybe this happened for the ultimate benefit for Blacks caught up in a primitive and barbaric African Culture. NA Indigenous Peoples as well.
Not saying that our industrial civilization don’t have its problems (materialism, consumerism, hedonism, narcissism, faux spirituality, etc.) but at least we get to make an educated choice. Even ‘Adam and Eve’ had the gumption to go for that.
