It will never happen. We shouldn't stop pushing back against it but they don't even know who owns them. I sold mine to Larry in a Walmart parking lot, all completely legally.

Police are way over-militarized and generally poorly-trained. I don't know if I agree with BLM and their ilk that they intentionally kill black people or have unconscious bias (rather than, what I think is happening, they just have more interface with police because many live in more crime-ridden communities), but policing and criminal justice in general needs a huge overhaul in the U.S.

I think we should take better care of our environment. I also think that AGW is a very real thing, but I certainly don't agree with the apocalyptic pornographers and those who try to blame every little thing on climate change or that their solutions would actually be feasible or that the consequences are as dire as they say, but I think it's generally a sound concept.

I think Trump is a narcissistic moron, though I am not sure that's a strictly liberal position.

I think high levels of immigration is generally pretty good for the country, though I am no open borders nitwit.

Won't budge an inch on guns, taxes, economics, healthcare, and a lot of other things because I strongly believe most liberal solutions to those problems are at best wrong-headed and not infrequently malevolent.

.50 cal?

That's not very fiscally conservative of you.

You can get .22LR right now for less than $0.03 a round.

50 cal would be fun to shoot though.

Conceptually it’s not unlike what Trump did with Obamacare.

Not sure of your political leanings, but for me I agree with you to the extent that "IDGAF about gay marriage." Shouldn't affect me.

But are you pro-gay marriage in the sense that it is legal, and that nobody is seriously challenging, the 2015 SCOTUS in Obergefell v. Hodges?

One of the worst reasoned majority decisions. Scalia's dissent was correct: robbed the citizens and the states of the vigorous debate about its legality.

Why Trump's vigorous judicial appointment of federal judges is so important.

It absolutely should have been left up to the states.

Kavanaugh and the mid-terms are examples that quickly come to mind. Using our Intelligent apparatus to spy on an opposition candidate also.

Environmental stuff.

For example, I'm extremely pro-fracing. I have personally been compliant with on site regulatory requirements. I want us to frac everything. However this idea that the free market will magically come up with solutions to make reasonable regulations themselves is stupid. In some areas, sure, in others, the existence of proprietary information alone creates a conflict of interest.

The idea that the free market weeds out disasters before they happen, or that accountability to the greater good or something the firm doesn't directly own, is just dumb.

I am very much for being a steward for our environment, and extracting its resources in a safe and measured way. It sucks that the EPA and crazy environmentalists true goal is to just shut everything down. It also sucks that Republicans just say "the free market will create a solution" as their answer to everything.

Capitalism is the greatest force in human history to create goods, services, and lift people out of poverty. Market forces, free enterprise, and individual liberty are all incredible characteristics of capitalism that have proven themselves to be incredibly beneficial to mankind. That being said, capitalism is a tool, not a religion. It's something that should be used to make our lives better. We dictate when to unleash it's awesome forces, and when to control them

That's the thing tho, I certainly have no use for the 50 cal, it's not practical and it's expensive.

But if I want one, I will buy one and the DEGs of the world can't do a Goddamn thing about it.

I've fired one before, kicks like a mule

My actual political liberal viewpoint is gun control. I’d like to think we’re smart enough to solve it. My ability to carry a handgun won’t stop the government from doing what it wants to do. It’s a bad trade off.

Interesting. Are we going to ban ammunition for our enemies, too? How will we enforce that? How will unarmed law enforcement agencies enforce your ban?

That I don't give a shite if people take drugs or have sex with other consenting adults of whatever variety. But don't expect me to celebrate what you are doing, and I think whatever you do while high/drunk/impaired needs to be prosecuted as 1st degree with intent. IE if you kill a family while driving drunk or high, 1st degree murder, death penalty and all that
