well your problem is that there are no Trump's in the bullpen. all the blowhards are going to lack his charisma and experience playing to crowds.

b. uh...Trump won. Milquetoast Republicans who wanted the DEMs to like them (McCain, Romney) lost.
He beat Hillary. Did he get more votes that were voting for him, or more votes that were voting against Hillary?

I would say too many delusional egos who view themselves as noble statesmen and won't recognize they are in a knife fight with scum.

There's nothing Republicans can do. They've lost. Demographic replacement is a very real thing. Hispanics, blacks, and asians have voted (D), overwhelmingly, in every election for the past 40 years and will soon be the voting majority. This country has no future. Sidenote: Why would you even vote Republican? What the frick have they actually done? Secured the border? Nope. Fixed immigration? Nope. Stopped funding sanctuary cities? Nope. Stopped funding Planned Parenthood? Nope. But, hey, at least you get slightly less money taken out of your paycheck. I guess that's something?

2016 was an awful year for democrats. 2 years later, look what happens.

Bad year, sure. But not a catastrophically bad year with an historic loss - which is what Republicans just had.
